There is no way Finns will beat Portugal. Of course, yesterday's tie in Lissabon means that all 4 teams still can grab some precious points to qualify. But I believe that it will be much harder for Finns to win in Portugal than for Poles in Belgrade (a tie is OK for us, assuming that we win with Belgium and Kazakhstan).Salopian wrote:On course? Hmm. Beating Azerbaijan at home, sure. Belgium away? Tough one. And then - THEN - must defeat Portugal in Portugal. Finland, unfortunately, and despite the form of the Portuguese, aren't good enough.
Everyone seems to think that Portuguese will go through. I hope they are right but have lost much faith on this team
Finland reminds me of Portugal some 10/20 years ago. We would play well against the top teams (not necessarily win) and would be contending until the last games only to see the favorite, who had been doing a "miserable" campaign, snap it at the last minute. On the other hand Portugal is now the favorite, I hope the story still holds true

We do but I am quite positive we will win in Asia and in Belgium before that. Then we only need a tie in Serbia and that assuming that Serbs will win it all, which I doubt. Portugal should have won yesterday, that last score was clearly offside.dax wrote:No,No,No my friend.
Poland is not in such good position. They have last match i belgrade.
This is quite clearly utter nonsense. Beating Kazakhstan should not be beyond you, but will give you only 24 points.jakub wrote:ok, now we (poland) only have to beat kazachstan...
Portugal would have no difficulty collecting that many points (7 required) from their remaining four games. Serbia, too, especially with Serbia having the attraction of playing you last.
The Poles need six points from Kazakhstan and Belgium. THEN, perhaps, they can relax and throw away the Serbia game.
Truth is, in any case, Poland are in the driving seat, and Portugal (and even Serbia) come next, and only then comes Finland.
What utter nonsense man, youve been reading the HS too muchotyikondo wrote:This is quite clearly utter nonsense. Beating Kazakhstan should not be beyond you, but will give you only 24 points.jakub wrote:ok, now we (poland) only have to beat kazachstan...

Gold old Suomi will come through to defy all odds.
