Greek football in Europe

Today was a great day for Greek football, all 5 Greek clubs in the Uefa Cup won there first leg ties. The results:

Aris Thessaloniki 1:0 Real Zaragoza
Artmedia Bratislava 1:2 Panathinaikos
Sochaux 0:2 Panionios
Larissa 2:0 Blackburn Rovers
AEK Athens 3:0 Salzburg FC

In the Uefa Champions League, it was a different story

Olympiakos 1:1 S.S. Lazio

Panathinaikos beat Artmedia Bratislava 3-0 to become the first team to advance into the Uefa Cup Group Stage.

The other 4 Greek clubs will be playing on Thursday, October 4
Olympiakos is playing tommorrow in the Champions League when they face Werder Bremen.

Olympiakos recorded there first ever away victory in the Champions League after beating Werder Bremen 3-1. The victory puts Olympiakos in a tie with Real Madrid at the top of Group C. Real Madrid drew 2-2 to Lazio in Rome.

All 4 Greek clubs lost there ties but advanced into the group stage, a first time in Greek football history.

Real Zaragoza 2:1 Aris (Aris advance on Away-goal)
Panionios 0:1 Sochaux
Blackburn Rovers 2:1 Larissa
Salzburg FC 1:0 AEK Athens
