Considering how many headhunters are offering you jobs 24/7 I'd be having a small set of spiritual orgasms. Its easier once you got one job to get another... after all then you got "Finnish work experience" and all your paperworks done and settled in and a network in place looking for jobs... kaaskop...

Cheers, Hank W.

Kaaskop?? I think you're referring to our northern neighbours!Hank W. wrote:Considering how many headhunters are offering you jobs 24/7 I'd be having a small set of spiritual orgasms. Well, the thing is, I have no experience in Marketing, I studied IT.
You definitely won't need a marketing degree for this job, it sounds very much like calling their clients or annoying prospective new ones on the phone and typing their details into a database -- which sounds really nice and comfy, especially when you're not established yet in Finland and not fluent in Finnish -- I'd really recommend you apply for the job, you might regret it in some months time when you get turned down for cleaning jobs.. It's completely futile to wait for a job that perfectly matches your degree- it might never come along, or only in a few months or years, but until then a job like this will sort out your bureaucratic and financial needs and save your sanity..Suitable candidates are customer service orientated, good communicators, able to work with excel and not afraid of working on the phone.
I dont see anything here that relates to marketing..cept the title and that it is a delegate position..and Cept the company name is management events..Your tasks will include supporting our Dutch operations by updating and maintaining our Dutch delegate database & reporting as well as other assistant level support tasks. Actually this could be a good opportunity for beginners as the company connects "business" people with potential employers/customers etc or something like that..rather like they re brokers..

Management Events - Call Centre for Dutch Market
I heard that this position requires 95% calling Dutch companies, no real incentives meetings in NL for example, no extra push to learn the local language...just calling and indeed do some administrative tasks...bit bizar to interview college graduates for positions like this but may be it pays well or at least bring comfort to some Dutchy/Fleming who is looking for some kind of job around Helsinki ... g'luck Gerrit but why would you apply for a Job in Finnieland?gerrit wrote:I am a native Dutch speaker and got plenty of experience in customer service. So I sent an application email. Hopefully they don't mind me applying from abroad ; I after all need work first before I can move.
Is there anyone that knows someone within the company and wants to do a good word for me?
BTW, I found a Dutch lady called Janneke - with an own website - who works/ed with management events in helsinki at the Dutch Desk but no contact yet.

Wanted: Dutch Graduates for Finnish Call Centres
Hi Gerrit, gerrit wrote:College graduates? I am not a colleague graduate by any means or so, still I got an interview for the job. Hopefully it turns out to be succesful.
Find this link to the old ad (in Dutch) in which it says that the position of Delegate Marketer is meant for Graduate starters...

Or are you applying for another job? Good luck though since it sounds to me like a Sales position for someone with extensive experience in Call Centres who might even like such a position in a new country...are you considering a move to Finland in the darkest days? December/January...at least it always get better than that

Management Events Recruitment Complaint
It seems to be that Managment Events has despite its excellent reputation hard times to provide the applicants with clearity on the outcome of the late recruitment process for Delegate Marketers.
Although promises made to provide feedback within a week, no follow up was done, not even after reminder mails + phonecalls...might be an indicator of a too fast growing callcentre bizz...??
Still bizar that a Finnish co. is looking for native call force with a BA degree to work in Suomi.
