Why not. It is a girl´s name in Latvia. And there is a Finnish girl´s name Kaisa, so it would still have some connection.

Or do what dad did long ago and named our dogs: Manne and Veera and when we got pups Valko, Jalko and Talko. Now I can never look at a Veera without thinking of it as a doggy name

Then in my younger single days when I dated and broke up with the guy, the next guy always had a dog whose name was the same as the ex (happened two consecutive times, then I got married..

I wanted got out from the others. Be different with courage
Those are just common like Rontti, Rekku, Ressu, Haukku, Luppa etc.

I've never actually heard of a dog called Musti, Tessu or Rekku. If I'll ever have a dog, I'll name him/her Musti. That'll stand out from the fancy-pancy names people usually name their dogs with.

In America, people who speak Finnish always call their dog "koira". Since you are an English speaker in Finland, why not call your koira "dog"?

Socialism has never managed to create anything beyond corpses, poverty and oppression.

How about naming it Ganja?
"Oh Ganja? I left it at a friend's place for the weekend."
