Rosenlew Fridge

Post by Flossy1978 » Thu Oct 25, 2007 4:50 pm

I have one of these fridges and I put hot soup into it one night awhile ago. The next morning the fridge wasn't working.

Does anyone know of a website I can look up to get someone to come and take a look at it?

Can you get someone to come take a look and quote a price of how much it will cost to fix here in Finland?

My Husband said we should just buy a new one. I don't want to do that. He said that there was a report that he read that no one gets people to fix these kinds of things anymore, they just go out and buy a new one. It's any wonder eveyone is in debt LOL. I just want someone to come and take a look and tell us how much it will cost to fix. Then a decision can be made.

Thanks!

Michelle

There is very little to go wrong in a fridge. There is a motor which pumps refrigerant around the system and some basic electronics. If it's fairly new (<3-5 years), I would try to find someone to look at it before buying new.

I have the name of the local service office, but I'm in central Finland. Where are you?
Political correctness is the belief that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Thanks :)

First the lights were working and it was just the compressor that stopped working. Then the man I call my Husband fiddled with it without pulling the electric cord out of the wall (after I told him to) and got himself electricuted and now the lights don't work either. An idiot, I know LOL.

I live in Helsinki.

The light problem is a blown fuse. Should be easy to replace.
The basic problem is either a broken thermocouple (electronic thermometer) or a burned out engine. If it's the engine, get a new fridge, if it's the thermocouple, replace it. You could do it yourself (if you're not an idiot  )
Cost between 10 and 20 euro for a new thingy.

Ok. Thanks :) I'll tell my Husband. He's the idiot, a very intelligent man that does idiot things I guess LOL.

Thanks again for your help :)
