I had some problems with the link but found it on the mtv3 site.

Gordon Ramsay and I share some ideas about certain Finnish food. The cheese is rubbery (but I like it) and the mämmi is nasty He's wrong on all counts about Karelian pies with egg butter. Overal, it was funny to see his reactions.

I have to agree with Gordon, rubbery cheese, solid rye porridge and rice patties may be traditional Finnish, but they are definitely not culinary specialities.
I hope he's got a better impression of Finnish cooking at Chez Dominique.

I agree with Ramsy 100%. Never liked Finnish food. When I saw Karelian pies for the first time..they reminded me of...well, I better keep my mouth shut

I forced myself to eat Christmas traditional food when I went for "meet the parents" round. Couldn't leave the plate with utter disgust since everybody was watching me so I had to finish it somehow

. My father-in-law said that if I am very hungry then I can take some more from fridge

One thing is clear - Ramsay has a foul mouth and the manners of Genghis Khan. Pretty much places a big '?' re what his idea of 'taste' is.*

He'd no doubt be a big star on WWE

*Though I could imagine that the MTV people offered him pretty bad examples of those foods - the KP's certainly looked like they were straight from City Market - and to offer mämmi from a box meant it was the sludge that Valintatalo sells.

but he is doing well, is rich and successful. And from what I see the Finns like it as well, he is fairly famous here and the presenter was great in that she played up to him and they presented some pretty bad examples of Finnish food!If someone like him can tap the public's need for this reality type entertainment ,then good on him. I would guess that his TV personna is quite different from his private personna. Same goes for Cowell, Anne Robinson, Boy George, and many more entertainers.

Don't see how that relates to anything - you don't have to be older than 6 to know that is irrelevant to quality - save the totally impoverished

and successful.

Lot of different measures of that-

some pretty bad examples of Finnish food!

I think it was more who made the foods and how they were presented

tap the public's need for this reality type entertainment ,then good on (for) him.

We've had some 5-6 years of this 'reality TV' - and it's up to the kazoo - with VERY variable quality. No one gets any kudos for just presenting 'reality'

I would guess that his TV personna is quite different from his private personna. Same goes for Cowell, Anne Robinson, Boy George, and many more entertainers.

He just simply comes over like a pretentious oaf with a very foul mouth. I have 2 of his books - the recipes are fine - comments OK - knowledge OK - but nothing that Julia Child didn't really teach us 30 years ago. He may have ability but someone should lock him up and ask him to send in his stuff by post. Jamie Oliver - if we are looking for 'entertainment' - is a lot more fun. if you want shock value of being crass and rude - just call around to some of the 'asiakaspalvelu's in Finland - though you'll probably have to go to a pub for the 'language' (so-called).

..his New York restaurant has just been reviewed...two Michelin stars...thats the first time in history that two have been awarded to an opening restaurant...

..I would thoroughly recommend anyone visiting London to go to one of his restaurants. It costs as much as a visit to Windsor castle and you'll never forget the experience - get the set menu - and even if you are only spending 60 quid for two, they treat you like royalty..
