Kotiompelimo - PK area

Post by JohnWatson » Thu Nov 01, 2007 11:31 am

I have a corner sofa that needs to have the cushions re-covered.

Regular retail 'commercial services' are prohibitively expensive - and the places fixing up 'antiques' should have to get police permission to legally steal.

But I have heard there is an army of (mostly) ladies at home with the proper - or even better - skills who would just be glad to do that kind of work with reasonable pricing.

But how to find them in the Hki area?

In Myyrmäki shopping centre there is a Thai family business doing alterations/repairs to clothes..
My wife uses them and they are good and not expensive.

If you can take the cushions to the shop I am sure they can do something.

Go into the shopping centre from the entrance nearest the railway station up the first escalator...then go around between R Kioski and the Opticians..Up the escalators opposite Hessburger..take a left at the top and their place is opposite a lighting store..One warning..their opening/closing times are a bit odd..open about 10 am and close about 17.00.
People do not become more irritable as they grow old - they simply stop making the effort to avoid annoying others.

There is also one of those places in the Niittykumpu shopping centre (the one with the pet store, the golf store and Avis) just off the Länsiväylä on the main road from Tapiola.

Don't know any cheap places in town, sorry.

Thanks! - those are more than 'tips' - will have a go at N-kumppu first as live in that area.

It is upstairs. I have never used it, but noticed it when buying dog food one day.

Let me know what they are like... and I'd be interested to know if they do simple upholstery stuff too.
