Average salary in Tallinn - some estonian here?

Post by p19 » Tue Nov 06, 2007 8:58 am

Hi,

I know I'm a little off-topic, but I didn't know where to go elsewhere. Perhaps will be some estonian here.

Today afternoon I have an interview with an employer from Estonia, Tallinn. It's in IT field.

But I don't know how much is an average salary in Estonia, and how is it in IT filed in Tallinn? How much should I want to get for middle-manager position?

And how are taxies in Estonia?

Thanks for everybody and sorry for the off-topic.

Average salary in Estonia? Minimum wage is something like 200 euros a month. Average is around 500 or so. Tallinn wages are much higher but so does everything cost more too. Engineering/IT... around maybe 1500 give or take but you pay your ass off for living. They got a flat tax on income, that is actually going down, somewhere around 22%(?)... health insurance as well, you check out the bureaus, they all got english pages. Also a good one is something called "investment estonia" or "invest in estonia" for quick statistics and such.

At home I have a book from year 2006. It's all about EU and it's citizens. Each state, one chapter.

As estonians there are two husbands with two childs from Pärnu (so no Tallinn). He is a truck-driver and she is a salesman.

His salary is 15 000 EEK netto and her is 13 000 EEK netto.
If I take today's course 1€=15,65EEK, his salary is 958€ and her salary is 830€. They are not from Tallinn and I don't think they have some well-paid job....

Yes well Pärnu is like Turku; a city. The country hicks earn much less, the income gap is *much* wider than in Finland.. And Tallinn is a boomtown, every time I go over in 2 months theres 2 new skyscrapers and a dozen cranes. Especially the IT industry has risen so much that we used to outsource to Tallinn but they're been too expensive now for a couple of years so we have a bureau in Ostrava  I'd say you could be expecting almost Finnish salaries by now.
