Kolumbus Prepaid problem. [ solved ]

Post by jazzori » Mon Nov 05, 2007 4:23 pm

Lately, i'm experiencing this problem: after every SMS I send or every call i make i get a message with my credit balance from Kolumbus. (unrequested message) And what makes it even more annoying is the fact that i understood that costs. So, every SMS i send and call i make costs me extra.
I called two times today at Kolumbus and i was on hold at least 10 mins. I didn't get to talk to anyone.

Is there someone among you who could help me in this matter? Maybe it's about some SIM settings which i did wrong, or not noticing i chose whatever option, etc. I tried to figure it out myself, but it's in Finnish, even though the menu of the phone it's in English.

Thanks.

I get that too, but only when I have very little left on my account (less than 10e I think). I was under the impression that it did not cost to receive sms-messages, are you sure about that? I thought that was only in the US, that you had to pay to get called/get messages.

Anyway, if you have lots of money on your prepaid account, your problem is obviously something different from mine.

Why not walk into the nearest Elisa store and get help/more info about this? They can be found in most shopping centres (at least in Helsinki).

I chose Kolumbus for exactly this thing. That I can use it abroad and it has better prices than DNA. Depends on which are the companies Elisa has contracts with. For me, it is the best till now. Sonera could be used abroad, also, but it was too expensive.. However, i lost the pin and the puk, so there went my nr. from Sonera. Not a big loss, i went for something cheaper like DNA, unfortunatelly DNA didn't let me send, either recieve SMS-es from abroad -- i only could send messages in Finland and just to one phone-networking in my country.
So, finally, i am happy with Kolumbus -- but i had this prob....

...which i think interleukin solved! ;) Thank you, i think that's the reason for them doing that, to remind me i have to recharge, it makes sense, i only have 4 euros left. About paying for the SMS-es you recieve, no, you don't pay for them, except for the ones you request when you want to see your credit balance (as far as i know of)

Jazzori, in case you don't/didn't know, you can change the language of the messages too.

It's indeed annoying that you can't use it outside of Finland. But when I send a message to my parents, I don't pay a cent more than I would to a Finnish number. It's strange, but I don't mind!

You don't pay anything extra when you receive an sms with your balance. Hey, thank god it's not like China, where you have to pay too when somebody calls you, and if you don't have any money left on your card, nobody can call you >_<!

I see it's not a general rule, for some works one phone company, for some another. Well... :) I'm stuck with Kolumbus, now everything is okay.

Yeah, than China is kinda fcked up on that... I mean, what if i have some obsessed stalker and he calls/messages me all the time? That's... crappish.
