Uhm... i was living under the impression that the Danube goes from Hungary to Romania, and not the opposite way...

Or has the entire river reversed course in the last year ?

While the mines might dump cyanide in the Danube, i really wonder how the cyanide would be able to go upstream into Hungary...

OK.... yeah yeah you are right. The cyanide got dumped in the Tisza which rises in Romania and flows through Hungary and then into the Danube just north of Belgrade.

I was living there at the time and remember it well. The pollution caused a huge amount of environmental damage and economic disaster to the region.

Yup, that i remember, the dumping in Tisa.

That river is just on the border with Hungary.

Eh, these things happen. And until the government is stopped from pressuring romanian environmental agencies to shut up about pollution, it will keep happening.
