Canon lens rental?

Post by fooishbar » Thu Nov 22, 2007 5:16 am

Hi,
I'm looking to rent some lenses at short notice (need it for Monday, and preferably the weekend). I'm after 10-22mm and 30/35mm lenses in particular, and possibly (i.e. if the price is right) a 40D body. Anyone got any recommendations on shops etc? There was one on Lönnrotinkatu (just up from Fredrikinkatu, IIRC) that looked tempting, but aside from that, no idea really. Maybe the place in Sanomatalo?

If you want to take out a second mortgage on your house, do go to "that place" in Sanomatalo. They're a bunch of thieves!

Not quite sure why you'd want to rent some lenses, other than you need them on short notice? But for example the 10-22mm (Sigma) is very affordable. The rent price is probably very high in relation to the purchase costs.

If you're not stuck in a time table, take a look at http://www.maitolaituri.fi. I've bought most of my stuff from there, at very competitive prices.
Of course... If you have a couple of weeks waiting time... The dollar exchange rate is very good at the moment. You can also try http://www.bhphoto.com. I've also got some stuff from there. Very reliable, only not really worth it for small things, as the shipping is shockingly expensive (but that's from everywhere in the US).

Thanks. :) Unfortunately I need the lenses by the weekend, and despite the €50/day rental (competitive at least with companies in the UK), definitely can't afford to buy two of them for real. Rajala had good service though.
