Hello all, I just had my wonderful

1st 2 hour meeting at the employment office to discuss and set up my Integration Program Plan. I had to fill out 2 applications for Integration Language Programs in Hyvinkää and Riihimäki that start in January. The lady told me that in Hyvinkää 67 people have signed up for the possible 16 slots and 18 people have signed up so far in Riihimäki for the 15 open slots.
My question is how do they choose who gets chosen?? I asked 3 people there but no one had any idea. You think that someone there would know how the selection process works since many more people are trying to get into these courses than there are open seats.
Thanks in advance.

yes , i was just 3 days ago there! i sign my self too to that course! which will start on january, they have 2 different courses! anyway the woman there was so nice and i asked her the same question, she said that they choose people by : their motivation , level of their finnish too! their programm i mean wht they will do in their life! something like that plus they will make one test period for 1 week then they put u in the right level plus u take 31 euro/day( 5 days /week) full study! plus of course u can work for instance if u get this money 600 euro monthly, and if u work part time for exemple 500 euro then they five u half it means 250 euro and ur salary500 euro = 750 euro! but still better than nothing !
ok i hope tht it help u ! i got those information from the kela just today

Do you want us to make up some answers?
How about asking at the unemployment office, so you get an answer from someone who knows?

If you read my question I stated that I asked 3 people there. That is why I am asking here!

Not sure but with my constant visits to the doctor, I hope there's a 'medical' part, I may pass with flying colours.

That is so true. LOL. I am only 29 and feel like I´ve fallen apart since I moved here in the spring. Going to private docs got too expensive so I´m sure they´re going to love me at the medical center with my laundry list of complaints when my Kela card arrives any day now.

Nidhal, Im sorry but I do not understand exactly what you wrote. Do you mean that if you collect the integration money which would be about 600 euros a month and then also find a part time job that pays 500 euros a month, you would get the 600 Euros plus half of the 500 Euro salary (250 euros) =850 per month??

it means if u get this 500 e this part time job! u will get like this: 600( amount from the finnish course)-250=350 euro from the state pluys ur salary 500 euro =750e, it means if u work part time jobu will get 600euro- half of ur salary!thats how it works!! it means tht if u get part time job over 1200 euro u CANT get anything !! i asked tht from the employment office and from the kela!

Ok Nidhal. But this still doesnt make sense. You say that you will get 600 (amount from the Finnish course) -250 = 350 from the state, plus your salary 500 euro. 350 + 500 = 850!!

yes if u work u get always less! its like that ! but still better than nothing !!! i mean in this integration course, in 6 month u can speak well finnish and u can get good work! still better than to work in macdonald by !"#¤% salary and u dont learn finnish!i see that this money is better than study money too ( 270e)monthly ! so it´s possbile to work! the only problem that this integration course is 7 hours /day! and its quite hard! because its not only finnsh course it´s: language, computer, finnish culture... !i see from some of my friend´s experience that they get better work after this course , for instance one he made training of bus driver and he get as starting salary 2200/month!!!
