...or the coast of Norway - how about a sunny holiday in Bergen?
(mind you, rain -at the end of the day- is just rain and this is not to be considered a stab at Norway... Bergen is a nice place really. It all boils down to one's own expectations

But I have! Honestly, I think Iceland is one of the most beautiful places on earth and the weather was just fine to me.

Again I looked out my window this morning and just had to laugh. I am wondering if this is just some kind of cruel joke. Has Finland pissed off mother nature in some unspeakable way??

I came to Finland expecting some good snow, never thought I'd encounter endless rain instead even in December! That's no fun...at all.

My 40 years in Finland, I don't recall more lousy weather *ever* - it's been dark, around 0 - +4, windy and raining for several weeks now.
Hopefully it'll get colder, with some snow.

You've to go further North!
Kuopio, Joensuu or maybe Jyväskylä?

It's global warning perhaps.
We had a black Xmas up here in Jyväskylä last year, the one before was in '93 (I think) and the one before that in the 1970s. Average temps are on the increase, although there are still the extreme lows in the winter. I guess winter is shorter now than it used to be....
