NFL this week

Post by mCowboy » Mon Dec 10, 2007 9:39 pm

Man, oh, man...

there was some legalized murders going on at the games last night...

Colts hammered Ravens 44 to 20. Whilst it may not sound much, Colts had the 44 points already in the Q3 and took out Manning. After that Ravens managed to score couple of TDs. After they put Sorgi in, I couldn't watch the game anymore... it was not pretty.

Pats continued their undefeated streak, as they outscored Steelers 34 to 13. However, Steelers did put up a good fight and the game was quite even until the second half. Brady completed 399 yards on the game and is now only a few yards of beating his personal best of season high of 4,110 yards.

I must say that the Giants - Eagles game was boring as hell... and the scores speak for themselves... 16 to 13 for Giants.

On a related story, Michael Vick was sentenced 23 months in jail for running an illegal dogfighting ring.

My Vikings have won 4 in a row and 5 of 6 to vault back into the playoff picture. Favorable remaining schedule also; two home/dome games against the Bears and Redskins, then finish the season with a game at Denver.

Don't forget they did a pretty good job against the Cowboys earlier this year down in Texas, and they are playing better now.

Watched the Cowboys game last night. Lions put up a good fight using running game instead of passing game, and managed to keep Cowboys trailing until the last minute. Romo managed to do the impossible in the last minute without any timeouts left and Cowboys won by 1 point with 18 seconds on the play clock.

Next week it's a conference games with the Eagles.

DAMN I MISS OUR FOOTBALL.

The Chargers are going to the post-season yet again :beer_yum:

When I look back at the Cowboys vs. Lions game, I started wondering if the same Lions showed up to Qualcomm this last Sunday versus the Chargers.

San Diego mutilated them 51-14... under these conditions:
-RB L. Tomlinson pulled out after the 2Q
-3rd RB Darren Sproles finished the 2nd half (2nd RB Michael Turner left the game with a dislocated shoulder early in the game)
-QB P. Rivers playing with bad knee, pulled out during the 3Q
-DE L. Castillo out all game
-OLB S. Merriman out all game
-FB Lo. Neal out all game
-all the other playable injuries in TE A. Gates, NT J. Williams, whoever else I missed.

On top of all that..... we have Norv Turner at the helm of this team... with his sidekick Ted Cottrell as DC!!! SD has won 4 straight so far, and we can take the 3rd seed if we win out the last two games (should be pretty easy... DEN @ SD, SD @ OAK).

Was it a bad Cowboys team that played a great Lions team? Which Cowboys team will show up in the post-season? It'd be awesome if the SB came down to SD and Dallas. Then Wade Phillips can be reunited with the team he left during the off-season

Dunno the PHI - DAL game was a pain to watch... thou quite even... it wasn't good from either side... PHI was good at shutting down the DAL offensive game and vice versa. TO started dropping passes again like last year and Romo had a thumb injury. Now I hate Jessica Simpson even more... ruinin' a perfectly good QB.

NYJ - NE game was a surprise, didn't see it, but the spread wasn't that big.. is Brady getting tired, I mean their game is based on passing more than rushing...

JAC - PIT game was fun to watch, even match with terrible weather conditions, sleet and mud...

WAS - NYG.. talk about a boring game... *yawn*

Looks like Ravvy got his wish...

MIN played well against CHI and beat them, however Grossman was out due to a knee injury, so 3rd QB after 2 years since the last start was in shambles...

NE has their weaknesses. The Pats will fall weakness to their passing schemes and aging defensive players. I think they might have peaked too soon in the season. They've slowly showed weaknesses in the past few games, starting with PHI. I actually can't wait to see the MIA vs NE game.

Sunday Night Football: Vikings vs. Redskins from the Metrodome in Minneapolis, MN!

Vikes won their 5th straight last Monday and are in the driver's seat for a Wild Card playoff berth (but the young MN QB played poorly in their win over the Bears).
