really?! I didn't know about such requirements. For example HUT requirements, there is nothing about 2+ years work experience.

Admission requirements

The applicants should have a completed Bachelor’s degree from a university. The university must fulfill the following criteria:

* The university must be official and a recognized part of the national education system.
* The university has to be found on a list or in an international handbook that is completed by some international organization (e.g. UNESCO)

The degree must be in the same or applicable field in which they wish to study. The department determines the applicability of the degree. One of the following is accepted:

* An international Bachelor's degree or 3/5 of a Master's degree completed
* A Finnish Bachelor's degree
Applicants who have studied at a Finnish polytechnic (AMK): the AMK Bachelor degree must be from the same discipline that you wish to continue at Master level at TKK
* Students who are studying for their final year towards the Bachelor's degree are eligible to apply. However, the degree must be completed by 31 July 2008. In this case, the diploma certificate must arrive at TKK by 1 August.

* Please note that there is a separate application procedure and also a separate application deadline for the Erasmus Mundus programmes
PS1. "A Finnish Bachelor's degree" is tradanomi.

PS2. I know one foreign from India he arrived to Finland to work and on next year started the masters study. Unlikely, he has 2 years exp. in Fin.

Post by Ngally » Sun Dec 16, 2007 9:46 am

Hello Shretcher,, i am an MBA student at a Uni..(work experience was not a requirement), i am not so motivated though, as i don't see no use of it here...it happens to be in the same field as my Bachelors....i am taking it very SLOWLY and actually i am planning to quit..
i am thinking of finding a 1 year postgraduate or someother short course to spice up the Tradenomi ,and after that try to make use of my education...
lets see....
i have been thinking about a diploma in migration and refugees..looks like hot!! was also thinking of working outside Finland incase i don't get any proper job here...see i'm tired of waiting and i am getting old too...

Yes.

As far as HUT is considered a polytechnic/UAS is not an "university". You have to be a bachelor from an university like HUT, TUT, LUT... where you would be studying for a masters degree anyways.

Polytechnic masters degrees are a different thing alltogether.

Try to search job outside of Finland might be a good idea: you can gain valuable expirence and then come back here. Don't give up with your MBA, as education is always the good assert.

The problem with "fresh graduates" is as always the catch-22 of "need work experience"... back in 1994 I packed my bags after 6 months on the dole - though back then there weren't much jobs around anywhere.

I'm on a postgrad spicer for a tradenomi... they're usually a bit more sensible than the degree studies. I've got too bad grades to get into a masters programme, unless everyone else applying is a total looser

Oh, blind grain found a chicken: Recruitment fair info is good to scout from the news section.

24.01.08. Helsinki: Tradenomien rekry- ja infotapahtuma (ilmoittautuminen alkanut)

Oletko pääkaupunkiseudulla asuva ja koulutustasi vastaavaa työtä hakeva tradenomi?

Tule ja osallistu tradenomien ja työnantajien yhteiseen tilaisuuteen 24.1.2008 Helsingissä. Ohjelmassa on työnantajapaneeli, jossa eri alojen työnantajat kertovat, minkälaisissa tehtävissä tradenomien osaamista erityisesti tarvitaan. Tradenomit voivat esittää kysymyksiä työnantajille.

Tilaisuuden tarkka pitopaikka ja kellonaika selviää myöhemmin. Kaikki ilmoittautuneet kutsutaan joko Vantaan tai Helsingin työvoimatoimistoon ennen tapahtumaa tammikuussa ryhmämuotoiseen, vapaamuotoiseen osaamiskartoitukseen ja CV-infoon.

Vantaalaiset tradenomit voivat ilmoittautua osoitteeseen: vantaa.tikkurila@mol.fi ja
muut pääkaupunkiseudulla asuvat tradenomit osoitteeseen: helsinki.kluuvi@mol.fi .

The problem is something like this pops up, they're always looking for "experience". Unless you strike lucky and have a certain combination of talent they want, but theres not 1001 people queuing up.

in Finland there are jobs for students, part-time. You should be advertised at University the link to they site (jobstep.net, IIRC). Perhaps, it makes sense to look for such jobs.

Cow-heada, I think your onto something!

Perhaps the Ministry of Defense could form a new infantry division, comprising solely of foreigners with bad Finnish. And those who survive the recapturing of Kareilia will be granted Finnish citizenship and English will then become the 2nd official language of Finland (to replace Swedish).

Something like to the French Foreign Legion...

Jyri Häkämies (Minister of Defence) may go for the idea of a "Finnish Foreign Legion", since he is know to be a bit of a hawk.

No no no no....

We would do great crime against proud tradition of FFL if we accepted english.

Suomen Muukalaislegioona (to be used internationally since France and Finland start with same letter... 2xFFL would be bad) will use as language finnish alone. It will be crash cource to finnish language which weeds out the learners from those who do not learn through method of shouting "Päät alas PER****" after which live rounds are fired.

If you figured out meaning of this finnish expression, you survived and carry on with training.

Whose who finish basic training will understand several finnish expressions well along with being twitchy and generally on the edge. Then they can be unleashed upon the enemies.
