Does anyone know of a course that would be in English on a Saturday morning?
I've done the Finnish courses in Finnish and even though I do understand the Finnish they speak, it is just hard for me to learn this way.
I work very early in the morning (have to get up a bit before 05:00), so I really don't want to be going to evening courses during the week.
Surely there must be a course or two that is held on Saturday mornings?
Thanks!
Michelle
Finnish courses on a Saturday morning
First of all Flossy....
Where do you live?
Assuming it is Helsinki then you could try here

But at a guess I think no.... if you do find a course it is unlikely it will be in English because hardly any courses are (except the ones on the radio). And most courses are, eg: 2 evenings a week, or 3 mornings. So finding a course that is only on Saturdays... difficult.
But if you find one please post it on here as I think it would interest plenty of people.

The courses at Haaga-Helia are in English. I had already studied Finnish in Finnish and was able to take a level test and skip the Helia courses. One thing that was really helpful to me was to take the same Finnish-in-Finnish course twice. The second time was much easier because I understood and remembered more from the first time. If you have the option, try taking the course again. You'll probably be surprised at what you remember and how much you learn the second time.
I know how frustrating it can be when you really want something clarified in English. You can always ask here.

Thanks
Sorry, I realised after writing the post that I didn't say where I lived. I live in Lassila, next to Pohjois-Haaga.
Thanks again
I'll try to find a Saturday course and let you know. I don't know why they wouldn't have one. I know that normal schools (higher education) often have classes on Saturdays. My Brother Inlaw goes to school on a Saturday morning.
