Since you re non EU, you can come here 3 ways:
by way of relationship ( live-in which requires 2 years at least or marriage ) OR
by means of work ( meaning Skilled work that there is not ONE soul in the Whole of EU who is qualified enough to do the job that you are going to get)..
OR
by means of school, fo which you need qualifications to study here and take an English exam as well as an entrance test to be admitted into an university..
moreover, marriage if it happens here, then you d have to go back tp Pinas to apply for a permanent resident permit based on marriage..
How was he a BF to you? for 3 years? If you have enough proof that you ve been together for 3 years..then that is your 4th or 5th best bet for now..but then no guarantee..
Your first best bet is marriage..
second is studies..
and 3rd is work ( Skilled)..

I am not from an EU country and I came here by means of work, it was a traineeship I found through an student organization called AIESEC. I am working permanently in Finland nowadays.. but, back then was rather easy to get the residence permit, I contacted the Finnish embassy in my country and got the permit in three days after a quick interview 
. It was a residence/work permit for the duration of the traineeship only of course and I had all the traineeship papers etc.
I was planning to go back to my country at the end of my traineeship but I ended up staying here for reasons different from work, anyways, although I got a permanent position at my work place getting the second residence permit took a lot longer than two days, I guess because there are many applicants on the waiting list.
