Hi all,
I have recently moved to Tampere and I am looking to teach guitar - either privately or in a school.
People start to learn how to play instruments for many different reasons and if it is to start learning from scratch, brush up on your technique, learn how to play your favourite songs or put music to lyrics you have written I can help you.
I have 20 years guitar playing experience - both classical and modern/electric - and several years of private teaching experience.
I also have several years of bass playing and singing experience.
For over 10 years I have composed and recorded my own material so I can also help with composition. I have played in many bands of differing styles and played hundreds (seriously) of gigs so I may be able to help with bands starting out who need advice or ideas.
Students of all instruments learn in their own unique way so I adapt myself to work in the way my students find it easiest to learn.
My prices are accomodating and all lessons will be conducted in English.
All levels of skill are welcome- from beginner to intermediate and beyond.
Cheers,
SImon - in Tampere

Re: Guitar teacher in Tampere
Hello Simon, I hope you got some response to your post.
I moved to Helsinki in the spring and similarly am looking for work as a freelance guitar player / composer / teacher; http://koti.welho.com/stesmith. Could do with a bit more action on the employment front, to be honest - quite frustrated with performing / teaching prospects but hopefully a New Year will bring a change. Did manage to write a bit of theme music for YLE2 over the Christmas period, which was a nice opportunity, optimistic there might be more possibilities there. How do you make ends meet otherwise? Are you with employed Finnish spouse, per chance? Cheers, and good luck, Steve Smith
