Can any parents in HKI recommend a good babysitter?

Post by ScubaGirl » Fri Jan 04, 2008 4:52 pm

My current babysitter (who I absolutely ADORE) needs to leave us soon to pursue other career opportunities.

I am not looking for an inexperienced student who just moved here to be with her boyfriend and needs to find herself just any old job asap. I want someone with references, and I thought what better way than to hear from the parents themselves (assuming any of you have anyone good in mind).

I need someone minimum twice a week from about 9am-1pm or 2pm. If they can work 3-4 times per week, that's even better. They can choose which days they want to work and it could even be weekends (whatever is best for them). I need someone who can maneuver a stroller (pram) in and out of my building using an old elevator, a few stairs & 2 sets of heavy double doors at the entrance. Someone to take her to the local park (or library on cold/rainy days), who can feed her lunch/snack, dress her in and out of her winter clothes/boots and change her diapers. She's 14 months and can walk, but she NEVER pays attention to the ground in front of her, so she trips over things often. I will always put her for her nap, so no need for anyone to do that. FLUENT ENGLISH is a MUST. I live very close to the center of Helsinki, I have both bus & tram stops just a few meters outside my door and Kamppi metro station is a few blocks away.

If anyone wants to post here or pm me their recommendation, please do. If you're a babysitter with no references, please don't even bother contacting me ( I WILL be checking references). Thanks :)

Great, I'm still looking for someone, but it will only be part time (3 days a week + one evening per month). If you're still interested, send me a pm with your info :)

We got a very nice and good student via the Mannerheim League for Child Welfare.

You can give your request and it is no problem to ask for references.
