Need a job!

Post by mathew » Tue Jan 22, 2008 3:55 pm

Hi, I have recently moved to Helsinki, Finland, and I am now in the process of finding a job. I studied manufacturing engineering in England and also have qualifications in Computer Aided Design. I would preferably have a job in one of these fields whether it be a traineeship or internship or a full time job I don't mind but, for now any type of job i will be happy to accept. I have experience with working with the public and have taught tennis to those with no experience. Please email me or reply to this post if you know of any jobs in the Espoo/Helsinki area :)

Ps if you want to learn tennis please also contact me and we can try to arrange this as well :)

So then, I want to know is your arse really gilt or is it just painted? As in do you have a paper saying you are an engineer or just sat in class zoning out? Like *what* do you do? Can you lathe?Yes, theres a s*load of jobs, but do you really think one will flutter down from the sky and bite you in the nose?

Your first job: Read the sticky...above these threads...
Then Instead of sitting on your a££ and typing on the computer in this forum, search on http://www.mol.fi and learn the lingo..by reading the stickies., knock on doors...
This is an employer's market..not the other way around.where companies are waiting in line to provide jobs for people..

The thing is, of course, if you do have a talent that is in demand, then they'll bend over backwards to acommodate you.

And while the jobs are being handed out, I could do with a new one too....Oh, this is the end of the queue isn't it?

Don't listen it, there are plenty opened IT positions in Helsinki area. Many companies can't find tech talents for a while, but they want skilled experts, but not an entry position. The best what you could do it is go back to your home country and start working there. You should have at least 4 years of experience. Then if you come back to Finland, you will see how the situation dramatically changes: not you looking for a job, but employers hunter for you. However, I wrote "if you come back", as many people don't want to change a good salary somewhere else to a miserable salary here :)

Well, there are open jobs surely, but its the problem of matching the talent and demand.
