part time job

Post by vincebel » Wed Jan 23, 2008 1:25 pm

hi all.

Im working part time but got something like 14 eurosper hour. I work sometimes 5 days a week, sometimes nothing for 8 days and then sometimes 2 days a week.
I was wondering if i could get some unemployment money during the days i dont work. The job and the people are nice so i dont want to change my job.

Thanks

IMHO, getting unemployment money is a shame unless you are disabled person.

IMHO, I think you can go to Kela and if you don't make enough as they see as a minimum amount to survive, then they may reimburse you for the rest. And theres no shame in collecting unemployment if your not disabled and not working. Its a service we all pay for that keeps us going between jobs. A temporary offer.

From my understanding, yes you would. Damn I wish I had paid more attention when my fairer half was in your situation...

They might want you to write some kind of explanation why you are applying for money, basically telling them you don't work full time, sometimes little to no income and perhaps ensuring them that you could, if offered, take permanent job.

Then you can get settled unemployment money. It requires you returning them your hour lists so they see how long you worked and how much money you made at any given day/week.

Catch, since I don't know your situation, might be your partner. KELA considers partners to be partners and thus income of another will be considered against applying person. That is why my lady did not receive anything, I was being paid so they thought she didn't have need for money. She could always tell me to get the food.
