Re: POSTI JOB
Well, depends on where and how u apply the job first...and to comment that foreigners are not welcomed here..they are really welcomed but then it depends yet on how active, smart and clever you are...ever thought not to listen what others tell you but rather explore the reality by your own?rauginta_kojine wrote:that he is not welcome there?karel wrote:Well ummm... hahaha...
I even dont think so there are so many finnish people wanting to find a cleaner's job and even then the employer is 'waiting' for some finnish...
Re: POSTI JOB
Yes, but in Finland we expect to be able to receive service in finnish. As we are finnish.ADMIN NOTE: PERSISTENT SPAMMER - DO NOT MAKE CONTACT wrote:Hey All of You there !!!!
Its really strange, that no one dare to face Reality,
Every Fins do speak English, mainly "Custumers" with whom one might inter-act.
Cruel? Perhaps. But try going to France and tell employers that you expect their customers to speak english to you since you can't speak french. Or british employer that you will be french only employee.
Or in Germany declare that customers you interact with must speak italian.
Welcome to Finland, local language is... Finnish. Lack of ability to speak mentioned language may cause significant problems in seeking employment.

Re: POSTI JOB
Yes, that's true. I am going to study finnish language myself as soon as possible as it will be much easier for a job-search. Of course, not only for that reason. Also I would like to understand everything what goes about this place, the news, even shop names and what others say to me when I quickly turn to - minä en puhu suomea...Tiwaz wrote:Yes, but in Finland we expect to be able to receive service in finnish. I knew this before I came to Finland. The fact that the most of employers want you to be fluent in local language finnish. That's quite normal.
but STILL sometimes I don't get employers requiring finnish where is NO need indeed to speak finnish. I don't mean only cleaning jobs. Actually, I was accepted to work as a cleanaer in one place, without knowing finnish, but the place was a bit silly so I left. And I don't cry for leaving though.

Also , I mostly read finnish advertisements about jobs (as I already understand quite a few words that help me to understand the meaning of sentences...(that's how learning own-self is going)) on http://www.mol.fi , http://www.itella.fi and other websites that provide job search in Finland (or Helsinki area). But sometimes I really smile from an anger when I read that the 'kemian laborantti' somehow needs to have a driver licence (for what? to come and go out to a working place? as laborants only work in laboratories, another story if the work is a technology/quality controller), also sometimes they require driver licence for a cleaner/dishwasher... sometimes you OUGHT TO have a 'hygienia passi' even when only washing the dishes (no contact with making food at all)...then I really think they are just writing anything because they have an ability/they CAN require it, just for fun...
What do think guys on these aspects?
P.S. sorry for a quite a big off-topic, but I really got interested on what Finns think about these aspects and I don't want to create a new topic.

Well if a cleaner needs to be in three places and at odd hours, how do you expect to travel from/to home and between places, company may provide a vehichle but they don't provide a chauffeur. And dishwashers need a hygieniapassi these days due to the rules, anyone even farting near a kitchen seems to need one.
Cheers, Hank W.

Is it written somewhere that dish washing workers HAVE to have a hygieniapassi? If yes, then show me. I am interested. I am currently working in this position, but the employer didn't ask me about it at all. But still - why would I need it? I don't make any food. But still I am , of course, using gloves when working (something like dropping food in a garbage box from the plates), isn't that enough FOR REAL?
Re: POSTI JOB
If the job is not in the workplace of the hiring company..then you need to drive to another place for cleaning..meaning it is for contract cleaning / Temp. cleaning.rauginta_kojine wrote: but STILL most cleaning jobs don't really require a driver licence.![]()
companies use these services to Fill in temp. vacancies, sick leaves etc..
