Be carefull when you order from Suomi Soffa

Actually I will never go in that shop again, but just be very very carefull when you order something.
They get you verry fast in the shop and before having time to think well if the thinks that you ordered are the rigth size (for example) you order something.
And then if you want to cancell that order that is not delivered they are asking for huge amount of money as compensation. In my case almost 300 Euros or they force me to buy something elese from their shop for same amount of money as the order. Because they treat me like this I don't want to hear their name, I get sick to walk in that shop again.
For the moment I don't know what can be done, I've been cheated.
The consumer protection said that they could ask for moderate compesnation but acordingly to the actual costs incurred to the seller, so I say 20-50 euro if the order was from stock so no speciall uniq order or start manufacturing it.

So you've just joined the forum, was it only to vent against S. S in a section of the forum that will get your rant easily on search engines (as opposed to Tea and Sympathy, the right forum that is not indexed by SEs)?

What exactly what do you think is wrong with this company? You admitted that you were easy to persuade and that you didn't read their terms carefully. But what's wrong/unethical/illegal with their approach other than the ridiculous photos they subject some of the local heroes? :D

Just to offer a different opinion..... I purchased my couch and love seat from Suomi Soffa. I had no issues at all. The sales person was very laid back and walked with us as we sat on about 40 different couches. I had the measurements of what would fit in the apartment and she pointed out everything in our price range and within the dimensions specified. The delivery was on schedule and the product was exactly what we picked out.

I am sorry to here that you had such a bad experience. Did you go in with the measurements for what you needed? And an idea of what you going in for?
**** that and **** you

Where I could find their terms??? There was not contract signed by me and not term show to me with amount of compensation. If you go on their shop no one told you enything about so huge compensation when you order something.

The only think that I'm doing it is to inform other pople things that suom sof should have done it, people who can get in the suomi soffa trap by lack of information. So just be very carefull before ordering something.

In most of the shop in Finland you can even return in 2 weeks products so you never think that something like thast could happend to not be possible to cancel an undelivered order from stock.

Sorry, SE is short for search engine.

I believe that if you agree to buy you are bond to the terms but someone else will answer that better. As for not delivering and ask for compensation you should perhaps check with the consumer agency ( http://www.kuluttajavirasto.fi/en-GB/) under which terms would be reasonable for you to cancel the order.

I bought my bed from them 1 year ago...

I have no complain about their service and the quality of the product...

We bought our sofa from them 3 years ago and the only hitch we had was we'd orderd grey upholstering but we got a different shade blue-grey, which turned out more nice than what we'd intended so we kept them. Now we'll be moving later this year and the color's no good anymore...our new place is going to be a bit different from what we have now, so either new upholstering or new sofas... but that's not Suomi Soffa's fault

So what was the problem with the item? Obviously it was not a defect with the product (as you didn't get it) so I assume you either changed your mind or found that it wouldn't fit.
Did you ask the salesperson if you could cancel without losing money as you had to go home and measure? Did you haggle lots and try to twist their arm for a good price and then go home and change your mind?

Well yes if you buy something like a shirt, and get home to find out you really dont like the colour or something. You can return it unused, but something large like furniture? I think they would laugh if you had it a week and called them to pick it up as you dont like it anymore

Legally, No shop in Finland is obliged to take anything back once sold...Unless there is a defect on manufacturing or not function according to what it is supposed to do. Lots of shops take some things back so that you ll come back to them as a customer..
Stockmanns and verkkokauppa have a no questions asked return policy and they also price things accordingly ( At least stockmann)
As a consumer, if you ordered the Wrong thing, then its not the shops fault to correct ..yet most of the times, they do take in exchanges..But Very rarely do you ever get cash or credit back..SO a Fair exchange is good enough!!
what was the nature of your problem? With your rant, I thought that You hit Suomi Sofa with a Tornado or something...

Reminds me of a case when way back I was working at a cd shop... this guy came in one day and decided to purchase the Beatles' Red Double Album (ie the years 1962-1966 collection)... came back after a few days to return the item, said he wasn't satisfied and wanted his money back.

Reason?

Because, in his opinion, there was "some strange hiss in the background, and the recording was not up to the standard cd quality of today."

Doh.

I believe that goods have to be unused

'''''''''''''''''

About Suomi Soffa - was there a deposit with the order? I can see how they MIGHT try to hold onto part of that - say the 50€ you said might be reasonable. But only such an amount if not a special order.

On the other hand, if it was a stocked item and you hadn't paid anything, I don't see how it is going to make sense for them to start a legal process to charge you. That would cost them hundreds if not thousands, with very uncertain results. And doubt very much if you would be forced to pay any of their legal costs.

Migth not all of you get my message.
The sofa was not DELIVERED. Is not at my home. I'm not usig it now :x .
Legally is OK to cancell something that was not delivered. I don't see why not.And even more if is from their stock.

But now they become really strange. After many days after I cancell it they called me from delivery that the sofa will be delivered today  :ohno: .
