Electrical training in English

Post by network_engineer » Fri Feb 01, 2008 1:42 pm

Hi all,

Is there somewhere that I can study Electrical works and get a certificate in English? My Finnish is at a reasonably okay level and can certainly manage a conversation; however, for technical studies, especially, since it concerns certification, maybe English would easier.

By Electrical works, I am referring to studying to get a certificate so I can do most of the electrical works around the house, without needing to get an electrician at around 200 to replace a switch just because the insurance companies want a certified person to do so.

Kind regards.

It was a quick check but if AEL say.."No" I doubt anywhere else will say "Yes"..

By the way it is not a five minute course to become a "Certified Electrician"..I think it is at least a year.

They do run some short courses (in Finnish) but I dont think the end result is a "certificate" that an insurance company will accept.

Also note the price....

So you're actually going to pay a few thousand euros and work 5 years in the business to get the papers for a certified electrician, just to wire a few plugs in the house? Hmmm... I need more weed today. http://www.ael.fi/koulutustarjonta/energia
