We have a very active under 2 year old who likes to climb out of his crib. I am afraid he is going to fall and get hurt. I don't want him roaming around the house alone at night either. I have tried to put him in a "big boy" bed because but he climbs out of that too of course. I had him sleep next to me but after 1 am he still wasn't asleep (normally he goes to sleep with no problems at 20:00). So now he has no naps, goes to bed late and wakes up early in the morning. He is totally exhausted (and isn't the only one!).

A good portion of my job I do from home when he is asleep but now can't get anything done.
Anyway, I know there are some products out there that attach on top of the crib so the baby can't climb out--some kind of crib tent. I checked some Finnish online sites and asked at our local baby store and they don't seem to have anything like that. They did say that a "kissaverkko" (netting to keep cats out) would work but I am skeptical. Does anyone have one and if so what kind? How does it attach? Do you think they could keep an active boy safe in his crib? This seems to be the kind I have seen most often:
kissaverkko
Anyone have any other suggestions or ideas about how to deal with this? Thanks for your help!
Anyone have a "kissaverkko" or crib tent?

I told you already. Joan Crawford was the master (mistress?) of keeping kids in bed.

Thanks for the suggestion. I could have my parents send me one from the US but unfortunately we don't have a standard US size crib.

If you are only after a net, then a mosquito net would suffice, but then to put it, you need to make something like 4 sticks and bend it int he middle. Otherwise, you can just put it on the crib flat.
This is available in Prisma, K-Rauta etc.but generally LIDL has it the cheapest on sale just before mosquito season( Spring).
Are you able to lower the crib bottom so that he is not able to climb up ( adjustable crib?)
Then there is the other option of buying a traveling bed which is pretty deep and costs around €75 or so.

Actually we do have some kind of foldable kids tent with removable plastic sticks that are flexible so perhaps we could fashion something out of those plus some netting to prevent him from climbing out and falling. I think that could work out really well! We have also ordered the kissaverkko so maybe that can be modified somehow too with those sticks from the tent. Thanks again for the helpful ideas!
About the crib, ours is adjustable and we have put it to the lowest position available but he still manages to climb out. We have a travel bed too but he can climb out of that as well. In general he loves to climb on everything and is very persistent as well so I have to really keep an eye on him. We call him Houdini because he manages to get out of the 5 point harness on his feeding chair and car seat too.....
