Cancer Treatment
Cancer Treatment
Has anyone on this forum dealt with this in any way while living in Finland, family, friends etc..
I have a friend who has been diagnosed a second time with cancer and is not happy with his treatment at KYS, in Kuopio. Language problems explaining options etc..and feeling very uncomfortable with the situation, He is covered under private care and also could possibly fund much of the treatment on his own as well, so leaving to another country to seek treatment could be an option as well. Feel free to PM me or just leave your comments on the board. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Cancer Treatment
Private treatment, private hospitals then the option would be to start with say the local Mehiläinen or Diacor or straight to Eiran Sairaala in Helsinki.

Well, yes. Especially in the navel fluff of the universe locations, where there is the one specialist in the province.
Its more "cutting the queue" and "getting xyz done".

Re: Cancer Treatment
Has your friend tried the Pohjois-Savon Syöpäyhdistys, which is a support group for cancer patients? They listed these as contact persons in Kuopio: Airi Rissanen 017-2833051, 044-0864215 (chair) and Heli Jäntti 0400-200113 (secretary). I also pm:d you another contact, that might be helpful. All the best.
