Wrong Noodle Bar

Post by karen » Fri Feb 08, 2008 9:05 pm

Visited the local bar for the first time today. I misremembered Xochi's review. I thought she said she liked it. It was possibly the most bland food I've had in Finland. What a waste of money.

Its one of those trying crossover with the extra bland sauce.

I could recommend a few tasty hole-in-the wall places... but they're more of the takeout variety. Have you tried the one in the "backside" of the Iso-Myyri?
Cheers, Hank W.

Dh doesn't like Chinese food so I don't get it often. I'm happy to try all suggestions when I get free of my leash.

Hey, c'mon, if you don't take their hint they so willingly supplied in their name,
it's your own fault ;)

Ate at Peshawar today, have to say I'll go back there again!

Yep!! And their lassi quality have improved though still watery.. but I ll always avoid their seafood dish ( prawn or fish..Yukk) ..plus ice cream as dessert is good too.
Peshawar has only a Single "style" of lunch.. The more you go the more you taste the same food!! ( their food base is the same for every dish).
I also tried curry palace for Lunch ( weekday) and I should say that I was pretty impressed by the food Quality. Fresh and authentic(to some extent).
Food was pretty spicy ( a Finnish couple just ate one plate n ran away ) Though Curry palace doesn't serve any dessert for the lunch. It would be nice if they had their menu on the web so we could choose the days we would go..but curry palace doesnt.. Peshawar does.so pros n cons..on both!!

The only CP day that really matters to me is every other Friday when it's Butter Chicken. That would be Friday this week. Go early because if they run out of Butter Chicken, they make something else. He has two weekly menus, but he doesn't print them because it gives him license to substitute. The week that doesn't have BC on Friday he serves Punjabi fish on THURSDAY, which we like quite a bit. We go one week on Friday for Butter Chicken and the other week on Thursday for the fish. Of course we can be found there at other times, depending on my schedule.

I noticed that :) There does seem to be though differing degrees of spiciness since some of the
dishes had me almost crying by the end (God, I've lived here too long ).

Seems btw that Friday is cake for dessert day there :)

I'm definitely going on Friday. Wednesday is a possibility. Friday has to be early, though.

Mind if I join you on Friday? :) And what time is early for you? I'm still on sick leave,
so the days are all a blur and time is meaningless.

Is the CP lunchtime €8,50 deal an "all you can eat" or a one visit buffet?

Am working in TKK this week and may suggest a visit there.

I've seen people go back for seconds or thirds. I don't know if Mr. Kumar would stop you at fourths or fifths.

Give me a call with enough time for me to hobble to the train station and get there :D
That's quite doable for me :)

You could make a Nutella cake and Friday could be cake day for us, too.
