OP Bank versus Nordea, what's your experience

Where to buy? Where can I find? How do I? Getting started.

When we needed a mortgage on our house, we got one of the best offers from OP.
But therefore I needed to switch all my accounts to them.

The guy who helped us sounded really nice. I asked him to make an offer for that, including costs for internet banking, visa and pankkikortit, and he said he would.
He never did. I tried to contact him multiple times by phone, left him messages with his secretary and on his voicemail and I mailed him a handful times, but he never replied.

So OP has blown it with me. It may be just the wrong person, but first impressions are lasting.

I have a great contact at Nordea and she's helped me with the silliest things you can imagine. And she never blamed me for not taking our mortgage with them. She said "I wouldn't take an expensive offer either if I'd get it cheaper somewhere else".
Nordea's "my" bank. Nothing but good from them.

Anybody have any experience of both these banks?
I've been with Nordea for 8 years, no problems at all. The missus has always banked with Nordea, so that meant things were pretty easy when setting up joint accounts etc.

We occasionally get invitations through the post from other banks, the missus did take one up on their offer of a quote, I think it was OP, it was nothing spectacular and for such modest annual savings didn't really look to be worth the rigmarole of changing.

It all depends. OP does not appear to have english speaking web, but if you have fluent finnish I have found it to have everything necessary.

I'm generally consolidating all my business to OP since I am "owner" member. Everything I do from deposits, investments, loans and any insurance counts towards 5k monthly monetary traffic which earns me bonuses to pay off my expenses.

I haven't paid a single cent for any of my services for OP this far. (Visa, personal economy service, online service and whatnot) And what is remaining on top pays some of my insurances.

Service may depend on how big the office you work with is. I'm actually client in rather small (but reasonably well off) branch which has given me good service.

Well i have meeting the morra in Hakaniemi branch so we will see what they say. I am going to be just an ordinary old salaried worker, As some have said i have had no problems with Nordea so not inclined to change unless they can make it worth my while. Only thing for me would be transferring money to and from home costs being less would be good however if they do not have an english speaking website then it is no use to me as i do a lot of my banking online.

We changed from Sampo to nordea about 6 years ago and have been very happy with them in every aspect rates, service etc. They have always been very nice and helpful and more than willing to talk English even though there is no need. With the Mastercard gold account we get free travel insurance and we don't have to pay exchange rates on foreign money, so all very handy for our trips to Scotland. I definately give them a big

I just did the whole home loan thing with these banks. I went to Nordea when I arrived because they have a better internet service in English (OP has one but it is basic, it lets you make payments etc and do your banking but for enquiries or anything out of the ordinary you need to go to the branch)

When I was enquiring about SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM I was in Nordea (on another matter) and asked the witch behind the counter if she spoke english. She said no, then folded her hands an sat there smiling at me until I went away. I tried to ask about SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM in Finnish; she still smiled and sat there. It's the first time someone in customer service hasn't tried to help (my record is six sales assistants at once in Motonet!) After this I applied on line for a loan promise from Nordea , I was rung by someone from Nordea to make an appointment, I couldn't make it that day and asked them to ring me the next day; still waiting...Meantime OP had offered my loan and done all the paperwork etc so I had only to go in and sign the papers and they gave me all the details, account numbers etc in one short session. This was made easier because my house was listed with OPKK. OP SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM (at the moment) are cheaper to establish, and don't have penalties for early repayment, which Nordea do. The interest rate is the same, and the other bank charges work out about the same (for me anyway).

But it's your money, so don't blame me for bad information.

Apparently the money lent to me by the bank for my house is made from spam.
