Hi all,
A cousin of mine is doing her studies in medicine from Russia and was wondering about the prospects of doing her medical internship here in Finland. Because I am nowhere in that side of the industry, need to ask: Is this even possible, i.e. to do the studies in Russia and do the internship somewhere else? If yes, what would be the first step I can refer her to? Anybody with experience here? I did tell her that as far as I can guess, she would need proficiency in the language.
Kind regards.

Re: Medical internship in Finland
Might be worth checking out
IFMSA (International Federation of Medical Students' Association)
http://www.ifmsa.org
IIRC they have some trainee exchange programmes. First check the main website and then contact the Russian member organisation (for the requirements & other detailed info):
http://www.hccm.ru/
(the Finnish branch http://www.fimsic.org/ might also be able to provide info, but apparently the applying itself should be made through the IFMSA in the sending country)

Re: Medical internship in Finland
Well, someone here might know exactly http://www.med.helsinki.fi/english/default.htm and if they have exchange programmes and such.
But basically, you're right, need to speak Finnish and then theres something with the TEO, required training etc. as Russia is non-EU so thats one more obstacle on the route. But as there are quite a lot of Russian doctors around, it can't be "impossible".

Russia is outside the EU, so it is the same process to get a lisence .....language, the exams .....the whole process....
