St. Patricks Day 2008 Parade and Party
After last years amazing turn out in both parade and evening party, the Patricks day committee 2008 have gone one step further.
This Year there will be happenings all weekend, ranging from treasure hunts, to family food and dance session and of course the march of the streets of Helsinki with a booming party after.

The Daily events is as follows;
Friday 14th March
Pre Meet-up, get-together (pub treasure hunt), crowning of Parade Marshall, and visit from St. Patrick himself

Saturday 15th March
The Parade
Parade will start 3pm, finish 4pm, we have our route starting at Senate square and finishing on Kamppi
Exact Route is:
Start on Senate Square
Move through Unioninkatu to the Market square
Turning right and heading down Pohjois Esplanadi.
Swing around Stockmann and heading onto Mannerheimentie
Continuing towards forum and turn left towards Kamppi area
Finish in Kamppi area (Narinkkatori) for closing of parade.

Those wishing to partake in the parade can do so by coming to the start of the parade at Senate Square between 2pm - 2:30pm.

Evening Party, 6pm Virgin Oil.
The evening section of the event will take place in Virgin Oil Company, where there will be an option of eating a delicious meal. The entrance ticket will include entry for the whole evening, dinner, beautiful sounds from our harpist, comedy act, band, various other entertainment. Some lucky participants will therefore win themselves lovely prizes (including many trips to Ireland) in addition to other surprises for all! There will be an Lily Neill on harp, Irish-themed band, which will be followed by a DJ for the remainder of the evening, and also some promotional Irish-styled drinks on offer! Also there will be an evening band of name Eternal erection playing with the night finishing with our DJ. In addition to this venue, St. Patrick’s Day will be celebrated in all the Irish pubs around the city (and indeed, the country!),
Sunday 16th March
Sunday 16th will see a Family orientated dinner music and Irish dancing in Molly Malones followed later that evening by bands played in the various Irish pubs, This is a great day for all to relax have a good meal and enjoy as well as participate in the colourful dance and music scene

Monday 17th March
Each of the Irish pubs will be having session bands and entertainment. A fine way to end Patricks event 2008
