As I tend to know people in person, I have had the privilege to experience "Raam's mommas curry powder" (need to get a refill)... and even old Raam has been "well blanded into the Finnish society" I can tell you in his kitchen the bleach is the least worrying thing the kids can get at...

I occasionally like "hot" foods, too, but on your scale they're probably just a bit hotter than ice-cream :D But tbh I really like many 'bland' foods as well... but not Kossu particularly...

As regards your original post, it is of course possible that eating a lot of spice helps to fight viruses etc. In fact, even in 'the west' many spices were mainly used for medicinal purposes in olden times... also sugar IIRC!... that's not to say that all mid-evil medicine was really good for you, or that modern medicine is rubbish; still, nowadays we do tend to think that most spices (and herbs come to think of it) have no other effect than... adding taste to food... which may not be quite true either.

habeneros and "private parts".....certainly a no-no. I know this. It is stimulating in not a pleasant way and not for just a sec.
