SM-Liiga Abroad?
Does anybody know if there is any way to watch the SM-Liiga playoffs abroad (specifically in England)? An internet site perhaps (pay-per-view or otherwise)?
I had hoped that Canal Plus' WebTV would do the trick, but apparently it can't be accessed outside of Finland..
Many thanks in advance!

Nelonen has the goals on their sm-liiga site, and the Three kings pub in kensington used to have a canal+ subscription but allowed it to lapse. You could try them though.

Thank you for your reply: unfortunately I live in Plymouth so Kensington is a little far to travel:)

Hi, i have been thinking about your problem since yesterday, and have checked the internet sites i have used to watch sport but none of them are showing the SM liga games. One idea, and a long shot, is to contact the breweries in your area, they own pubs and may have a list or idea which pubs have cannal+ subscription! Not sure when you go, but theres only a few games left! but blues winning last night it may prelong the competition.
Wish you luck

Not a bad idea, thanks! I go tomorrow, so not a lot of time to do the research but hopefully it will bare fruit! It was truly a magnificent win in Oulu last night (especially after the heartbreak of Monday) so let's hope tonight's game can tie the series!!antstar wrote:Hi, i have been thinking about your problem since yesterday, and have checked the internet sites i have used to watch sport but none of them are showing the SM liga games. Yes lets hope they win tonight, BUT forget my idea Jarkka was right, canal+ are not showing the finals
so thats my idea out of the window!

Re: SM-Liiga Abroad?
Hey! i have had another idea... yes thats two in one day, must be a record... anyway before i forget it, i think your looking in the wrong forum! how about trying the forum for Fins in UK! i'm sure if there is such a forum this subject will be discussed at length, as i'm sure many are wanting to also see these games over there. i personnally don't know of any such forum but if there are any i'm sure someone on here will know.

Doubling the idea does not make it a good idea

I think the answer from some WankH is: "Ryanairi lentää Tampereelle nääs..."

If you have friends over here, and they are willing to get the subscription for you, you can install a Sling box and watch to your hearts content. ( A lot of them US and UK folx do that the other way around). Of course it ll end up expensive.

Thank you all for your insight. A new question then: does anyone know if one of Sky's foreign channels carries the World Championships?
Antstar: I've tried looking for such a forum, but no such luck so far
