I think the pay is a secondary issue. A role like this offers opportunity for someone to gain language practice and a foot in the door. I've worked plenty of farms in Finland in the past.

"Free small accommodation included"
"Work is permanent with trial period"

That's a pretty sweet deal, if you ask me. You'd probably learn Finnish unbelievably quickly.

Though I ve not done it, Little birds here tell me that Farmers are best networking contacts for jobs nearby!! ( They tend to know most everyone in the village as they are the ones mainly clearing the snow or the roads during winter and selling local produce during summer)

And they are member of the nearby hunting or fishing clubs. Which can lead to even more networking contacts.

And they all meet up and gossip in the local gas station café over a beer or a coffee 2/3 times a day and of course one of them is on the council, and if you need something welded or your b r a n d n e w Indian 4X4 got stuck in a ditch and you need a tow, and they know all the back roads into town and throw the best Vappu parties, not to mention Juhannus etc etc etc....
