Hello everybody
Is the summer holiday money for 1 day the same as a a normal working day? So if somebody is getting 9 euros/hour with 8hours of work in a day, that means 72 euros/day. Is the holiday paid the same, with 72 euros/day?
Thanks in advance

Re: Summer holiday payment
It has always worked for me like this,
Get my full wage for my 5 weeks summer holiday + 50% extra (holiday money) and then tax taken off.

Yes, should be normal like this but I took a look on my pay check for last year, I had 4 paid days and right near the days I had the salary but it was lower the a normal day of work. Any idea why?richard berman wrote:It has always worked for me like this,

I will attach a copy of my pay check so you can take a look!

Re: Summer holiday payment
Usually you get less pay for the 'extra' summer pay that comes in July (I get mine in july).
For me, I get 5 weeks paid holidays and then that extra summer pay I get 70% of whatever holiday days I have accumulated in wages.
For instance, last year I had five months off work with long term sickleave. I got the first three months paid by my employer, so I still collected my holiday days. The last two months were paid by KELA. I didn't collect summer holidays for those two months as I was on 'unpaid sickleave' leave from work.
So this year I won't get my fully holiday amount, therefor I won't get the full 70% of my summer pay.
I don't think that you get a full wage for the summer holidays. I don't know anyone that gets 100% full wage for that summer pay.

I am not talking about the "extra" summer pay, I mean the normal summer pay...Flossy1978 wrote:Usually you get less pay for the 'extra' summer pay that comes in July (I get mine in july).

Re: Summer holiday payment
Did you get a pay rise recently?
Your holiday pay might be calculated on your previous pay.
Ask your payroll clerk (personnel manager... whatever) to explain the difference. They should be able to tell you.
