Seriously..I asked the lady what I should do since my permanent residence permit is in process and I was eligible to apply for Finnish Citizeship 5 weeks after submitting the perm residency application and she says "It is probably better if you wait until the permit is done processing and then submit your citizenship application. I would not be surprised if having both applications in at the same time caused confusion around here."

So, I took her advice. I submitted my permanent residency permit application on October 23rd of 2007...still waiting... was eligble to apply for Citizenship 3 December...at this rate, I will not be able to apply until NEXT December..

Hmm... the latter part of that phrase seems to go against the "less and less people to do more and more work" productivity programme of the government...
