Wide played well. Seemed to be top scorer in both innings.

There was an interesting result in the Finnish bandy (jääpallo) league today, too.

Top of the table Tornio met bottom of the table Veiterä

Result 30-0. (HT 13-0)

Lukkarila scored a hat-trick (twice), as did Vaattovaara, and Rytkönen, who got his first hat-trick in three minutes between mins 32-35.
Zolotarev had a bitterly disappointing match and only scored five, while an off-colour Pörhölä struggled to break down the stubborn Veiterä defence and could only bag four. The less said the better about the showing of ToPV's Hyry (a pathetic brace), and Noren, who only got on the score-sheet in injury time.

Tornio's goal difference after 19 games (16-1-2) is 208-54, while Veiterä have five points (2-1-16) from their 19 games and a goal difference of 73-202.

Bit like the Scottish Premier League, really.

There was a Channel Islands league like the bandy one. But in Finland? Tsk.

"A determined 1 from 48 deliveries". Surely a thick edge or a chinese slice would at least get her going. Must've been watching Ian Bell in the nets...

Since this little gem has returned, the NEXT match played by Bermuda's plucky Ladies' XI was also quite memorable, as Wide top-scored for Netherlands with a magnificent 81.

This time the captain of the Bermuda team failed to emulate her sparkling form of the South Africa game, and was out for a duck after facing 20 balls.

Some fairly crushing results in the other games, too. SA walloped Papua New Guinea, but clearly the PNG team are a real test for Bermuda*. They made all of 28.

*And so it proved. Mighty Papua New Guinea thrash abject Bermuda. 223/9, 44 all out, despite a heroic stand of nine for the tenth wicket.
