Hi,
Here is a link with cycling trails (pdf documents) in Helsinki, along with a list of interesting stops on the way. Most of the trail descriptions are in Finnish, but there are also some in English towards the bottom of the page.

Now that the sun is out, it could be a good opportunity to discover the capital on a bike. I'm heading out...

Re: Cycling trails in Helsinki
I just came from a short biking ride vent around Katajanokka (from Ullanlinna/Kaivopuisto) and back & forth on the southern coastline of Helsinki. The weather is perfect for biking right now - the sun is shining but it's not too hot.
I was wondering - what trails are your favorites? Worth driving?
I have two faivorite routes; (from Kaivari) around vanhankaupungin lahti (number 23 + more on the map), and another one is around "Seurasaari Bay" (don't remeber what's the name of the bay) (ie. from Kaivari through Ruohonlahti - Hietalahden ranta - Mäntyniemi- towards Keilaniemi - a smaal bridge to Lauttasaaari - back to Kaivari). I don't know exactly how long those trails are, but I suspect about 30-35km (with all the twists I make), and driving at good pace I can make them in an hour (usually i stop in some places).

I am cycling to that "seurasaari bay" route from time to time, I think it is a very nice one.
from Sornainen area, I used to cycle to Linnanmaki, Oopera, Mechelininkatu, Sybelius monument and then on the coast to south and then east till Hakaniemi and back to Sornainen metro station (passing nearby Kallio Church, very steep hill at the end) - this one was almost 20 km, one hour.

I also enjoy the route around Seurasaari. I start from Kamppi, then to Ruoholahti - Lauttasaari - Lehtisaari - Kusisaari - Seurasaari - Hietalahti and back. There are some nice bridges and scenic seaside trails around the islands.
A nice stop on the way is Cafe Regatta near Hietalahti.

Cool,
On this beautiful day, I'm heading off from Marjaniemi and am going to head east along the coast towards Vuosaari. I'm going to bring my swimming trunks too and may do the Finnish thing and go jump in the very very cold sea at some point.
Happy times
