Online stores to buy home appliances
Hi,
Does anybody know any online store, which sells home appliances like freezers and washing machines and provides delivery to Finland?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks, but I was mainly interested in online stores outside Finland, since I believe they have much lower prices.

I also have a similar question. Will it be cheaper if I buy products say from US (considering the fact that dollar is cheaper to Euro) online. What are the implications of it. Are there any online stores which we could use in that case.
Thanks and Regards,

you'd probably pay a hefty shipping charge to get it from US...not to mention the import tax involved might negates everything

Appliances? you must be joking?solidrepellent wrote:I also have a similar question. Will it be cheaper if I buy products say from US (considering the fact that dollar is cheaper to Euro) online. What are the implications of it. Are there any online stores which we could use in that case.
Thanks and Regards,
Anyways do you want to buy my state of the art vaccum cleaner ( hoover, HEPA etc) from the US?

Only works on 110V and the plugs need an adapter..
( but then I have a central one now and dont need it and If I do, then I have a 5000W transformer)..
so think about it again ..
what was your question again?

Well, I was only thinking about online stores in Europe. Buying washing machine from USA seems a bit extraordinary for me.

You get raped by Customs for EU import tariffs + 22% VAT on item + shipping price. And then there is the question of warranty etc. And of course we're talking here of a niche product array that has multivoltage/multisystem capabilities (like some DVD players) but say like for people movuing here the "white stuff" for the mere sake of different electricity is "hold a garage sale". Even an Xbox Phil brought over wouldn't work.solidrepellent wrote:I also have a similar question. You get charged for arson if you plug 110v to 220v outletsolidrepellent wrote:What are the implications of it.

I need to remember that when I want to write "an idea so hideously idiotic its beyond any stupidity fathomable even by a thousand retarded monkeys on acid"... just "extraordinary"Adel wrote:Buying washing machine from USA seems a bit extraordinary for me.

Also, US-brand appliances are not as well made as the regular brands in Finland. So: price + shipping + VAT + poor quality = not cheaper than buying in Finland.
We held yard sales and gave away all our stuff that ran on electricity. So I am looking for good appliance deals in Finland shortly as well. Flying to Finland tomorrow!!!!

I think in the end they all come from the same place nowadays and quality is about the same. But I must admit I think its pretty funny that someone would consider buying appliances from the US to use in Finland or even think of bringing them with them from the US when they move here. But well, to each their own!USMC-Wife wrote:Also, US-brand appliances are not as well made as the regular brands in Finland. If you look for the threads wanting a converter it seems a lot of Americans take the short airplane to Finland.
The thing is "cheap" and "what you think is cheap" isn't always true
