of bolts and nuts
Re: of bolts and nuts
not sure how well that'd work.....the one broke because of the torque action...wonder why is the thing so tight..its a 6mm bolt in a 8mm plug. the broken end has spiral pattern

the 2nd bolt has sign of failure...good thing it has been taken out....will be using 5mm bolts on the same 8mm plug...hopefully not so tight this time....but first have to get the broken one out.

Re: of bolts and nuts
Maybe you ought to buy better bolts. Sounds like those are "too hard" and shatter. And I've bolted some serious 20cm screws into logs with an airgun so they should last a bit of torque

Re: of bolts and nuts
dont think the old bolt is too hard and brittle..it feels soft...seeing that the thing just twist off and fail.
anyway......I got the little bugga out!!!! woohoo!!! used some hard cobalt metal drill bits and gradually drill the thing into nothingness. and it ONLY took about 1.5hours. I also got the screw extractor thing, it didnt work very well because the bolt was lodged too tight in the fischer plug. the opening of the hole cracked a bit but generally it is still a 8mm hole. and the bracket plate managed to cover that.
now the bracket is up! and i still have 4 more bolts to do on the opposite side of the wall....this time its even worse...will be using 70mm length bolts. wish me luck. thanks to all that gave suggestions.
