Recycling or disposal of toner cartridges.

Post by Rosamunda » Mon Jun 02, 2008 10:19 am

I'm having a bit of a spring clean at home and have found about half a dozen empty laser printer cartridges (biggish ones Samsung ML1610D). As far as I can make out there is no recycling container for ink cartridges in Iso Omena (where I usually dump everything). Anyone know where I can take them? Preferably without having to buy a new cartridge which I don't need at the moment.

(BTW, these cartridges are apparently not refillable, at least that is what the refill shop in Hakaniemi told me a couple of years ago, and explains why I have accumulated so many of the things)

I usually take the empty ones back to the store when I buy new ones. They *should* have a kierätys thingy in any electronics store.

Aha! Great place. I will take my old iron and probably some other stuff too!

Thanks.

I tend to buy the cartridges when I see them because they are not always available everywhere and so I rarely have the old one with me AND I always have 2-3 in advance (just in case there is a global shortage). I need the printer for my work so can't can't can't run out.
