Wall Climbing course: interested?

Post by Silly » Wed May 21, 2008 3:21 pm

Hi! I´m desperately trying to organise a wall climbing course in English. I need people! At the University of Helsinki, Kumpula campus, they have facilities and instructors. A basic course is 4h and the total cost (to be split amongst all participants) is 88 E./h. We are already in 2. Maximum number of people is 6-8. So, if you are interested, reply! We´d like to do it one evening in the following weeks, and we are pretty flexible with the dates.

Hey, I would love to get involved but I amnt going to be in Helsinki full time until late July.

I could maybe persuade one other to come along too. I would be willing to start in July / August (I know it’s a long time away) or else it would be perfect to start it up as an autumn / winter course when it gets dark.

Hi Ken,

the course is actually only one evening, for 4 hours. It's just to give us the basics so we can then be independent. We are now in 3, and there are another 5 places so that the final cost will be 44 Euros each. Dates are flexible, so if you happen to be in town one day over the next few weeks... the idea was to do it now, so in the summer we can climb outside and enjoy the :sun: !

When were you thinking of doing the course? I am interested, however because of my irregular shift hours it makes it hard to plan stuff like this...

Ok, thats cool. I might explore the options to do some indoor climbing later in the year. Do you have to be a student to do the course?

Hi all,

you do NOT have to be a student: anyone can join! :) I think the price might be different though if you go on your own to book. Anyway, if anyone is really interested to join please let me know as I think (since we go as a group and I'll book it) it doesn't matter whether you are a student or not.

We are now in 6 and need only 2 people to reach the cost of 44 euros each. Next week I'll stop looking for people and try to finalise the thing (find a suitable date etc.).
