Hi, How much salary is reasonable for a software developper?

Post by afancyliu » Wed Jun 25, 2008 10:33 pm

I mean that working in the other cities, like Jyvaskyla, Turku, oulu etc, other than Helsinki, Espoo. I have nearly 8years IT work experience, but my current company gives me 2200Euro/month. Is it is a little lower? or it is already attain to the average salary level of this position?

As this is my first job in Finland, I know little about it. Your kindly answer would be appreciated!

Thats not programming, thats database query. So you're a junior DBA? Oracles should get a wee bit more, is that gross or net? If its net, you're on the stadium with me.

It is PL/SQL programming.

My salary is pre-tax. After tax, it is around 1800Euro. What is the level of this salary for this position in Finland?

Yeah, PL/SQL isn't it...

For starting position you get about that, depending on the company and how good you are could be up to 3000 or so. In your next "development discussion" I'd definitely ask for more money ;)

I saw somewhere said that for a fresh guy graduated in Bachelor, the starting salary(pre tax) is 1800euro/month, 2200euro/month for Master in Finland. Is that true?

So, I think the company just gives me the starting salary for my Master degree.

They don't pay per degrees, they pay per position... but you're getting the starter salary. Of course if you just started in the company...

Good information!

Are there any difference of the salary between Foreign companies, like IBM, SUN, Accenture etc with Finnish local companies, Nokia, Elsa, UPM etc ? which is higher or no difference?

In my country, foreign companies r always much higher than the local companies.
