I have not been to Himachal Pradesh... So I cannot comment about the prescence of mosquitoes....Hank W. wrote,
Oh come one now, its much more temperate than winters in India... in Himachal Pradesh
But I have been to Uttaranchal..Himalayas....where there were no mosquitoes.....& the environment serene and so pure....It was extremely cold as I was nearly at 12,000feet above... and moreover it was raining.....

So that was a nail biting experience in terms of cold conditions......
Yes , It is Kamal haassan ..... I am a hardcore fan of his films.debonaire wrote,
Is that Kamal Hassan in the pic....I heard his latest and most awaited movie in South India wasn't upto the level of expectations...I read the revievs and people were disappointed with the movie
But,Yes. Dasavatharam didnt live upto the hype and expectations it created among his fans.
He has tried to explain Chaos theory by linking up various incidents happening at various places.
He didnt concentrate really well on the screenplay .
How come you know so much ? Am Just asking out of curiosity ? I mean , Kamal Haassan is popular in India and to some extent abroad... But am startled his fame has reached so far... Do you watch Indian films or especially Kamal Haasan films?

I am a complete vegetarian. I would like to know how tough it would be to lead a life as a pure vegetarian ? I dont even touch eggs...Okk Here are some more queries,
Thats Y I asked a question initially like "Which city offers a lot of fruits and vegetables ? "
I also want to know the availability of the following items,
1) Rice ( my staple food ) 2) wheat flour ( To make chappathis )
I would also like to know the easiest and cheaply available vegetable that is available at every supermarket or with vegetable vendor ? Potatoes are one of my personal favourites.... I would be happy if these are available in plenty...
Rest of the daily diet I plan to include Bread ,Jam , Butter, Cheese etc.. I beleive that dairy products will be available in plenty ....

Cows said moo and tasted good, stop that stupid vegetarian thing. There are animals made for eating
There is no big difference on those 2 citys, only if you want to buy 25kg sack of rice then you probably wont find it. Potato is available everywhere and so is any other basic vegetable.

Well, you are able to eat vegetarian at the school canteen, but I wouldn't expect anything gourmet. They usually have the options on the menu saying which food is vegetarian or not, and its quite common these days. School canteens are subsidised so its usually well worth to eat there.warrior wrote: I am a complete vegetarian. I would like to know how tough it would be to lead a life as a pure vegetarian ?
Yes, for flour you need to go collect the soft underside of the tree bark. Just remember those living costs. You can get rice in bulk from the ethnic stores, otherwise you pay your ass off... wouldn't count on finding an "Indian" ethnic store necessarily in Vaasa nor Lappeenranta, but some arabic or thai store for sure. Cheap supermarkets, and I guess you'll advance to cheap pasta and noodles. Or oat flakes and make your porridge.I also want to know the availability of the following items,
1) Rice ( my staple food ) 2) wheat flour ( To make chappathis )
Well then you won't be disappointed as that is the most common food in Finland people are always complaining about.... potatoes with something. You might have to figure out the different brands of potatoes though.Potatoes are one of my personal favourites.... I would be happy if these are available in plenty...

Re: Living in Vaasa and Laapenranta
Warrior: winter is a bit grim. Potatoes, carrots, cabbage and cauliflower are usually available all year round at reasonable prices. Frozen veg helps make up the shortfall. If the 'ethnic' stores in Vaasa and Lapeenranta are anything like the ones in Tampere, the rice isn't that much cheaper than in Lidl, but in Helsinki they have a good selection of shops. Especially that Chinese one near Hakaniemi where they pack your bags for you.
And eating it school is the best thing to do, but be careful about the egss - they put them in a lot of things and you have to ask.
