Which Volvo S40 to buy?

Post by umit » Sat Jun 28, 2008 11:38 am

Hi! I have just moved in Helsinki and want to buy a new Volvo S40. But I need some advice... Which engine and accessory option would bring the best resale value?

For example in my country Volvo brings only 1.6 benzine and diesel, and T5 models to the market. The taxes for the cars, which have larger engines than 1.6, are too high that most of the people prefer 1.6. T5 is for rich people, who don't care about taxes at all...

And for the accessories, they worth nearly nothing on the resale... people prefer base models to buy.

Does it work the similar way for Finnish people?

Thanks in advance.

Its really the insurance that depends on the engine size here. But with the consumption and how much you drive the diesel has the extra road tax on it...

Umm... thats a hard one... they used to be "invalid gears"... It used to be taxis and people driving long distances got automatics... maybe if you go to http://www.nettiauto.com and search for the S40 you'll see the breakdown easier. S40 with automat is 104 vs. S40 manual 423, again S40 diesel 71 and S40 benzin 454... You can also search per year and kilometers so you can see what the depreciation is... and also the engine sizes, the diesels seem to be mostly 1.9 tdi.
