Selling my bycicle

Post by chickensexer » Sun Jul 13, 2008 10:01 pm

Hello Dear All!

Some of you might remember my bike shopping inquiries about year ago. As to where to buy, price range, what exactly to buy etc. End of May last year I bought one. And now, well, let's just face it - I don't ride it. I don't need it. I don't want it.

Just to recap why did I buy it in the first place. For the record - I hate biking. I wanted to get it just to combine getting to work with workout since I can't commit to a gym. But the truth is that 15km each way is just too much for me. Let lone the fact that each time tht I did ride it was raining at my sweaty back at some point so every single time I wond up sick like a dog for several days with long and dull recovery period. Every single of 5 or 6 times that I actually rode it to work or back. I didn't ride on any other occasion.

It's Crescent Nexus 7 622 Lady (whatever that means), bought end of May last year at a bike store on Annankatu, still got registration paper nd all that. Bad part is that I don't remember how much I paid for it, was it 300 or 350? I don't seem to have the receipt left  Plus I have may be another 100eur worth of stuff to it: Met helmet (that one I do remember, was 60eur), bikelock and set of tools. The total "mileage" I put on it is under 100km.

So, my question is:

1. Where do I advertise to sell it?
2. How much should I ask for it?

Thnk you all in advance.

Are you sure it wasn't more that you paid for it? Or did you get a good deal at the time?
Usually those Nexus 7 speed models go for alot more than 300e new!
I'd say you probably could even start your asking price on huuto.net at that amount and see if you get any takers.
Does the bike have a more specific model name?
Nexus 7 just refers to the fact that is has a Shimano Nexus internal geared rear hub with 7 speeds.
622 means it has 28" wheels and lady means the frame is of step through variety.
Is it a Sport model or a City model or a Classic model?

The shop you got it from is most likely FillariKellari by the way...

Right here. Or in huuto.net if you wish.

2. How much should I ask for it?

Take a look at Huuto and see how prices go. Keep in mind that the season will soon be over and many shops have their bike sales on.

Thank you guys! Never heard of Huutto before but I'll check it out.

Ahh, I remember, it's a City model. As for more precise info.. I dunno.. The book it came with says Monark but who knows what does it refer to. I'll check the book again. And no, I'm not sure about the price either.. I'm sure it wasn't over 400 though. From your experience, what do you think should be the drop % from its original price?

And to advertise here, should it be Sub Forum Announcements or right here, in Living? And I guess taking a posting a couple of photos here would help?
