TV schedule

Post by davidmaxwaterman » Tue Jul 15, 2008 4:26 pm

Hi,

Is there a list of TV shows that are in English? I find it difficult to know when English (language and/or nationality) shows are going to be on, since the cable TV schedules are in Finnish and often don't look anything like the title in English.

I have started making a list of my own, but I figured there might already be one somewhere online...

Max.

As I recall, English TV listings are about the only redeeming feature of the Helsinki Times.

Maybe some enterprising person could put up a website with them - paid for with google ads???

Telkku.com seems to list the original names of the imported shows for MTV3 and Sub – and probably also for their subscription-based sister channels, which I didn’t check – but not for Nelonen, JIM, or YLE’s channels. Perhaps these broadcasters just don’t provide that information, then?

With movies it’s different, however: those usually have the original name mentioned in their detailed description regardless of the channel.

What, so you can see which episode of Heartbeat is showing at that time of day? :D

But seriously, I know YLE's budget is tight, but was Heartbeat on special offer for 2008?
Political correctness is the belief that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Indeed. I just moved here from China, and it's similar there; mostly.
