Can't find this kind of cheese?!

Post by mridang » Wed Jul 16, 2008 7:30 pm

Hello everybody,
Would anyone happen to know where i can get this cheese:
http://www.woerle.at/products/cms,id,33 ... l?action=0

It's Austrian, there are a couple of brands similar to it and this isn't cream cheese. Many people said that the cream cheese in the supermakets is the same thing but it isn't. I've tried looking in Helsinki but I couldn't find it - it wans't at Stockmann too. A friend of mine was visitng Sweden and she found those in the supermarket but I somehow think it might not be available. It's a really small thing and thought maybe one of you would know.

Thnaks for any help. :)

La vache qui rit....

Coincidence, I saw a recipe in a foodie magazine this month for a savoury cake made from cheese triangles.

Isn't that like sulatejuusto? There used to be packages with triangles like that, all with different flavors, when I was a kid. Haven't seen them in a while, though.

If it is sulatejuusto, then a common brand here is for instance the Valio Koskenlaskija.

those kind of round packs with spread cheese in triangles used to be in every supermarket, you bought it in sticks too, but nowadays they have spread cheese more in tubs and squeegybottles.

I don't eat them often but always have some in the fridge, i've looked to restock from other shops but have always been quite surprised that i can't find them anywhere other than Lidl, i don't shop at Lidl normally so it means i get to have a nose around once every month or two when i run out.
