Help needed: Cabins or Campings around Turku, Archipelago.

Post by rauginta_kojine » Thu Jul 17, 2008 1:08 am

Hei everybody!

As many people are going somewhere on their kesälomat, we have also an idea to go "somewhere". I know it is quite late to look for anything, but this is how it is. We are having together a free week (from 27th of July, until 2nd of August). We are looking for a short trip to Turku Archipelago (1-2 days). I have been looking in some internet websites about cabins - nearly all of them are already rented or booket out, all remaining are terribly expensive. We could afford not more than 60 per one day.. thats pretty little, but still something. So I wonder if anybody knows any small cabin for two persons for a night somewhere in Archipelago?
I was also wondering if there are any campings - a place to rent the tents? Where are they, how much? Any ideas about it?

One more question - does there exist any trip by boat from Helsinki to Turku? How to find more information? (in my case, google doesnt help anyhow.. :( )

Any kind of help will be much appreciated!

Close to Turku there is a campsite at Ruissalo for €14 per night, the beach there is popular when the sun is shining and Turku is a short bus ride away. http://www.camping.fi/template_ypage1.a ... ua=2&s=142

If you want peace and quite then a little further out there is another campsite on the island of Nauvo for €10 per night

I don't know of any place where you can rent a tent but a reasonable quality tent that will comfortably fit two people can be found at most tavaratalot for less than €50

Don't know about a boat from Helsinki but there is the steamship Ukkopekka http://www.ukkopekka.fi/en.php?sivu=cruises&cur=cruises based in Turku that can take you to Naantali http://www.naantali.fi/en_GB/ and back or for a lunchtime cruise around the islands with lunch.

the camping store in forum was having a closeout sale so you can even pick up something decent for peanuts. two 3x5 meter tarps from tarjoustalo are about 20 euros, the rollable mattrasses are cheap too. and you can get a cheap sleeping bag if you're not imagining doing it in adverse weather.
