Where can I rent a private mailbox in Helsinki?

Post by CheerfulOne » Thu Jul 10, 2008 8:13 pm

Hi

I'm trying to find a place in Helsinki where I can rent a private mailbox. Specifically, it needs to be able to accept packages from private courier companies (e.g., FedEx, DHL, UPS). I managed to find a Mail Boxes Etc. on the Internet, but when I visited the address (Lönnrotinkatu 23), I discovered that they had gone out of business.

Does anyone know where I can find such a mailbox?

I’m surprised that nobody has any answers!

Such mailboxes are popular throughout the developed world, even in Stockholm? ; ) Do they not exist in Helsinki?

As I don’t know any Finnish, I haven’t a clue where I would look in the phone book. And, I’ve already spent many hours searching.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

- if nobody knows then whats the point in answering?
- if there is not any then whats there to answer?

never heard of any receiving packages, unless you are renting in an office hotel

Well, my hope is that SOMEBODY knows. Otherwise, I wouldn't be posting on this board. ; )

The fact that I haven't FOUND any doesn't mean that they don't exist. I just might be looking in the wrong places, or their information is only available in Finnish, or maybe such mailboxes are customarily available through a different set of outlets, here in Helsinki. I simply don't know.

Hi.

Why don't you try to ring Posti?

Look up their site www.posti.fi and look for the customer number where you can make inquiries. They will have someone who can speak English with you and help you out.

posti has mailboxes, but they don't sign for packages, your man wants a drop point.

Success!

Based on Pursuivant's suggestion, I searched for "toimistohotelli" and found a place that does this, albeit a bit on the expensive side.

They can be found at: http://www.officehouse.fi/
