when the eu rules came into force there was a lot of huff with the reindeer farmers up north as they had been used to doing the slaughtering in a different manner. you can order reindeer meat from a few places directlyAlicia wrote: This also happens with moose that is sold in the supermarket. I believe that meat can be given away without it, but not sold for profit.

Re: Buying fresh meat from the farmer
There are some differences between what people "think" happens when halal meat is prepared, and what actually happens, in some cases.
For example, in Europe, when chickens are killed, they are stunned first (either gas or electrically), before having their throats cut. This is normal procedure and if you add in an islamic blessing, it can be sold as "halal". It is ok for halal-destined animals to be stunned, the important thing to ensure it meets halal legislation is:
- the stun must not kill the animal, the animal must be capable of recovering from the stun
- the death must be a result of throat cut/bleed (which is what happens anyway for "normal" chicken in Europe)
In summary, the only difference in this example between "normal" chicken and "halal" chicken is the blessing it has received, and last time I looked, "blessing" an animal wasn't classes as cruelty.

Political correctness is the belief that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I know, it means that unstunned/alive animal throat is cutted that makes meat "halal", we are speaking about meat here. Halal means something what outdated book of pedofil and massmurderer says is ok (like old testament and partly new testament that shouldnt be part of society or human lives). To me that is unnecessary cruelty. What it means to you? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zabihahhackoff wrote:cruelty like halal ! what are you saying ?! do you know what does halal mean ?! dont be stupid !onkko wrote:Halal and fresh, @#$% off. in the link given above
# The slaughter itself must be done by a sane (mentally competent) adult Muslim. Some Muslims also consider it acceptable to eat the meat slaughtered by "People of the Book" (Arabic: Ahle-kitaab, i.e, Christians and Jews) On the other hand, some Islamic schools of thought state that except in the case of extreme necessity, the meat slaughtered by People of the Book should not be eaten.
do you still keep your views ?
